Guests visit an information stand set up as part of the awareness programme
The Community Policing section of the North Security Department (NSD) at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has held a summer awareness programme in association with Al-Dhakheera Youth Centre.
The programme, accompanied with a security exhibition, aimed at spreading security awareness and enhancing co-operation between community policing and visitors of youth centres.
Al-Dhakheera Youth Centre director Ali Lahdan al-Muhannadi, who welcomed the audience commended the efforts of the NSD and the community policing section in promoting co-operation with residents of the area.
NSD director Brigadier Ali Mohamed al-Nuaimi praised the Youth Centre for its participation and stressed  the importance of security awareness among different segments of the society.
He mentioned that community policing section was opening communication channels with various institutions and authorities as well as individuals.
Various MoI departments and other institutions such as General Directorate of Civil Defence, Traffic Department, Coasts and Borders Security Department, Permanent Committee for Drug and Alcohol Affairs (PCDAA), and NSD Community Policing section as well as Qatar Red Crescent participated in the exhibition.  
PCDAA secretary, Major Ibrahim al-Sameeh, delivered a lecture on risks of drugs while police officer from the NSD, Lieutenant Shaheen Rashid al-Ateeq, presented a lecture on community policing.
Warrant officer Fahd Shuraidah from Traffic Department presented traffic awareness lecture.
